Independent Petroleum Services, Inc. was started in 2000 by Ted Beck. Ted brings over 30 years of experience to Independent Petroleum Services as well as up to date best practices and certifications for the petroleum industry through his continuing education – formal and self taught. Ted has extensive experience and continuing relationships with major oil customers as well as individual privately held stations and state and federal agencies, affording him tremendous breadth and scope within his field. Ted’s expertise includes training, environmental services, Pump & Tank, Site development, general construction, expert witness and consultant for litigation, estimating, responsibility for major clean up operations from gasoline spills to diesel and heating oil, planning and specification, contract management, helping A&E firms with design, and project management ranging in size from five hundred dollars to five million dollars. Currently Ted holds certifications from STI for AST inspections and from the District of Columbia as a Systems Inspector. It was a natural progression for Ted to open Independent Petroleum Services after spending 20 years as lead on various projects entailing the successful coordination of manpower, equipment, budgets and state and federal regulations. Knowing where and what talent to find, Ted has added to Independent Petroleum’s expertise by gathering experienced industry technicians. Always looking forward, Ted states that “My self-education will continue as long as my job requires me to advance to greater levels to accommodate the industry in which we work and live.”
